Yes, it is Friday and I couldn't be happier. This week has gone by faster than the speedster from Heroes. The PTA Ice Cream social was a success but traffic sucked major eggs trying to get there! On most days my commute doesn't bother me becasue I know that is part of the grind when you live here but it is so wrong and frustrating when you have to get somewhere! I am happy to be able to take a breather this weekend and enjoy some fun time with the family this weekend. We are going to check out HSM3 tomorrow and carve pumpkins on Sunday.
Has anyone roased pumpkin seeds, are they good? I hate to throw out all of the inside stuff!

black board inspiration
I think know I am addicted to inspiration boards but this is the last one I promise:) I posted about it at the MMM blog here today.

  4. yay for grey and yellow!!! Seriously! And add a little purple, and it's just perfect.

Dude you MUST roast the seeds. It might be my favorite part of the pumpkin. Just make sure you season them first. I love using Red Robin's seasoning on mine. I rinse them slightly, but try not to get all the sliminess off, because it helps the spices to stick without having to use oil/butter and I think it adds flavor. And keep the oven on a low temp.

  6. Roasted pumpkin seeds are great. I remember eating a dish we made from one Jamie Oliver's cook books that had roasted pumpkin seeds in it. As well as some toast and a bit of Parmesan cheese... If interested I could look it up for you...

Oh, you can't throw the seeds out. Just wash them really well with lots of water until all the orange gooey stuff comes off (they will get white). Then, soak them in salted water, to flavor them. You can roast them in a pan (w/o oil) or you can put them in the oven.

  13. roasted pumpkin seeds are great- my kids love them- im sure there is a specific way to do them but i just bake them with a bit of sea salt sprinkle dover. i never know when they are done so i do a taste test after about 20 minutes to make sure they are crispy.

can't-watch-the-trailer- oh, it will make me so impatient for the new season to start! you are such a teaser! lol

  14. Happy be-lated birthday to your son! Love these layouts. Dh and I roasted them last year, he googled a recipe, it wasn't hard-oven and then salt. They were good though!
