mini scrap adventures.

wip mini
I started on this mini today, which was inspired by Emily F's 54 questions mini, but I wanted to have my own questions, although I did use her first prompt as a starting point. It will no way have 54 questions in it but it will have the answers  that I want my children to know about me. I want them to be able to see how I see the world. That is very important to me, would have loved to known more about my parents when they were younger and their views on the world. I am not finished but I hope to finish it tomorrow! Today was filled with happy texts, cartoons, mommy duties and just creating, great day if you ask me.

I guest designed for Cocoa Daisy's current kit! My gallery can be seen
here, it is an awesome kit filled with loads of paper.

Say it with me,it's FRiiiiiiiiiiiiiiDay!! :) I can't believe this month is pratically over and February will begin in a couple of days! I love February because it means we are one month closer to spring!! Spring is so beautiful here with the Cherry Blossoms in bloom. I made this layout this morning for my MMM blog post, it you want you can see how I made it here---> ink spots .

Our snow is almost gone well, I should say that it has been replaced with a glaze of ice. But we are good and thankful that we didn't get like it as bad as other parts of the East coast did because they lost power due to the storm. Speaking of LOST,I did watch LOST on Wednesday, without a doubt! It was good, loved learning the fact that Charles Whitmore is an OTHER!!! GTFO, I didn't see that one coming, did you?! I totally love Des, Penny is a very good +1, Daniel is getting more complexed by the moment and I can't wait for next week's episode!

On other news I am sadden that Domino is no longer, totally bummed. I loved the website just as much as the publication and just this week I started following them on twitter! It is a good thing that I have enough magazines saved to keep me happy! Have a great weekend!

LOST dish....

LOST returned this week to less viewers watching but I liked it especially since Sawyer was practically shirtless for the first hour and that is how I like it, lol. So if you haven't watched you may want to stop reading now...

My boy (picture above) still has it, love that he called Charlotte,Ginger!

I can't wait to see why Ben is so eager to return to the island and how he is going to accomplish it this time.

I seriously still love the fact that Desmond is still Daniel's constant. How old is freaking Daniel anyway?!!!! Did you catch that he was on the island during Dharma times????

Only Sayid would keep sharp blades knives facing up in a dishwasher in case he has an intruder.

Jack looks horrible, Hurley is still crazy and annoying. He is complicating "the plan" but I am sure they will get him back some how.

I don't like this serious Sun, liked her better on the island.

Where did the freighter go, it was close to the island right? I am hoping Jin is still alive.

What are your thoughts, would love to hear.....

a new [powerful] day.

Mr. President

on the steps

native

Today was a day beyond words but I will try to explain my experience as best I can...
I felt even more proud and filled with emotion than the day President Obama won the election in November.  I stood with pride beside my mother and watch as our 44th President was sworn into office. It was a cold day in DC but the warmth in my heart and soul more than made up for the coldness. The day was a long one with unmeasurable amounts of people on the metro, streets and city but we prevailed as a nation. I am so proud to have shared this moment in history with my mother. A woman of color who remembers when everything was segregated (went to segregated schools) to the marches of Martin Luther King and now our African American President. She would not be swayed by the crowds, weather, or discouragement from others. But today we all stood together and enjoyed the day as one nation to see a new day for our country.
amen

one love.

on the mall

We headed to the mall early this morning, well to the Lincoln Memorial to be exact for the welcoming concert for Obama. It was amazing to see a sea of people;it was cold but great to be with so many in support of one! But at last the cold won out and we left because as great as my little troopers were, felt guilty that they were so cold and we came home to watch it on hbo. I think I may venture out on my own tomorrow morning, to see the crew of GMA. :)

AT Feature

I was featured on Apartment Therapy yesterday, totally random and awesome at the same time. I totally drool at their site all the time as well as other home design blogs, never ever did I think my home would be on one! Okay, done gushing now and thank you AT!

My layout for my post today at the MMM blog, you can see more of it on the blog here. It has to do with creative prompts and colors.

New scrapjack went up yesterday, here is my take on K's awesome wall. The layout is based on last weekend's purge of my children's old toys. See I have a confession, I hate to purge the toys more than they do! I always start to think about them when they got the toy, how they loved it, etc and then I talk myself out of giving them away but not this time! I purged without regret because they went to new hands for them love.

Have fun and hopefully long weekend! They are the best ones to have!

a good reason to stay inside...

central
because today is hella cold thanks to the dip in the gulf stream... it is freezing in the dc region! I am hoping it isn't as cold next Tuesday because we have the "golden tickets", thanks to my awesome and amazing sister and a generous representative! We will be out in the cold to see our 44th President sworn into office! I hope to get some good pictures to capture the day's events to share.

Tt is always great to be creative in anyway.I changed up my kitchen dead zone. I call it the dead central station because everything seems to end up here in piles. I rearranged and hung up my 2009 calendar from storybymia and now everything is all pretty and organized!
almost five

family forever
Two layouts that I did with some Polka Dot Whimsy goodies.
Now if only I could stay inside again today! Next week LOST, I am so pumped!!

best day of the week with the exception of Saturday

current reading material
This is my current state of reading at the moment and I am happy with that. I was on a roll for a moment in the later portion of 08 with reading and I loved it but now I want to read inspiring, good, pretty, art books. So this weekend I will be snugged up in some corner of my home reading these in between creating, games of Apples to Apples, puzzles, tv catch up and laundry.
let the weekend begin...

2009, i welcome you.

happy new year!! I had some stumbling blocks during 2008 but I am ready for a fresh start in 2009. I love the start of a new year and all of the excitement it brings. I am not too big on resolutions to but I do like to have some personal guidelines for the year with growth on some level no matter how big or small. I will share one with you, I want to take more PICTURES, I am not as good as I want to be and have a stronger commitment to it. I took this one yesterday, before I put all of the decorations away:
ornaments

My sister and me saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and it was amazing! It is such an amazing message, I totally recommend going to see it! It is so touching and long (over two hours) but totally worth it.
We were downtown awaiting President-Elect Obama, I took these. It was fun to be at his present and future home. There was all type of activity there, camera crews, people, tons of Secret Service. We thought at one point he was there but it was his luggage, sheesh... It was fun though and when we got home I saw us on the NBC Nightly news.
