12*!

I loved reading everyone's list of thanks yesterday! Today I am thankful for being able to create this morning which included a lot of "sewing" and just rolling with the creative flow.
This is another layout for the December w/ Cocoa Daisy that goes on sale on 12/1. I love how Tricia mixes colors, the blue and red combo is my favorite but as you can see I had to add a little green paint too, lol... I can't help it!

Also thankful for new ideas, the creativity of the internet, my uggs (it's a chilly rainy day today), upcoming trips and a new favorite drink from starbucks. Have you tried their holiday caramel brulĂ©e latte drink?! I tweeted about it this morning, but it deserves a post too because it is that G-O-O-D!  It is my new favorite, right behind the pumpkin spice latte! yum!

okay now  for today's giveaway!  peace, love + cupcakes has generously donated a 8x10 original painted canvas that includes one of  Amy's  favorite Kobi Yamada quotes. This would be a perfect piece for an inspiration wall or scrap area, especially if you love pink! It has been signed in the corner and painted around all four sides.
$25.00 value
Leave a comment for a chance to win and remember another giveaway will posted tomorrow too! :) Thanks Amy!

friday love love LOVE!

happy happy friday!! I am super excited for the weekend even though my eyes are a little heavy with sleep this morning, watched tv way to late last night!  I can't wait to see New Moon, I just purchased my tickets to see it Sunday morning! I am hearing good things so it makes me even more pumped to see it! I totally love this inspiration board of what bella&edward's wedding would look like irl : twilight wedding (swoon). What are you doing this weekend that you are pumped about? I will be cleaning, rearranging and doing yard work in preparation for Thanksgiving with a little football (last game of the season, yay) and creating thrown in!

I am giving away this mini today, if you would like it please leave a comment. I will pick a winner on Monday. It is small, forgive me didn't take measurements but it is made from a BIG playing card and similar to my december daily 09 mini. It is very bare bones ( foundation) left empty for you to build, layer and to add your elements to! Thank you for reading my blog, I love this hobby so much and so thankful for all of the opportunities it presents, people I have met and friendships made.

mini giveaway

a sneak at one of the layouts made with the december cocoa daisy kit; I am simply in love with all of the elements in next month's kit! I used some pins on this layout, think they are going to be a new obssesion, they are so fun to use! I can't believe I haven't used them more often, so guilty in using the same thing over and over because I love it. That is why I love scrapbook kits because it gives you the chance to play with things you wouldn't normally buy or use which pushes you more creatively.

super sneak

hope you have a great weekend, xo!

living in color/tail wind....

_4038

I am currenty in a creative/work/life tail wind but it is what makes life interesting right? It really makes for a speedy week, don't know if I am loving or hating that statement right now...
I had fun this morning in between fixing breakfast, packing lunches and running baths to take some photos for my next entry in my book of list: live in color. I loved this prompt becasue it is so cool to see what you have or how much you buy of one color. As I was taking photos of my green items, I thought it would be cool to take photos of other colors that are prominent in my life as well, have to put that one on the to do list. :) Jamaica agreed too, so I am sure you will see more of this topic from one of us!  My list included: ribbon, a lot of textile, wall colors, plants, bowls, print, tees, paint, hair product, overlays, thickers, letterpress and buttons.

book of list:live in color

It is going to be loads of  creative fun! If you are free anytime this weekend, please stop by, do a challenge or two and play some games with us. sponsor intro + giveaway: living room floor

Hi there and happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend, today I want to introduce you to creative blessing's newest sponsor, Living Room Floor. Stephanie has a gorgeous shop filled with custom tags, calendars, noteblocks and cards. I asked Stephanie a few questions in order for you can get to know the creative mind behind LRF. Enjoy and leave a comment for a chance to win the amazing product above courtesy of LRF. I will post a random winner tomorrow, 11.10. :)

What are you excited about in your new release?

I always love my Christmas stuff the best, but I am really excited about all of the December Daily-ish stuff I've put in the shop. I also really love the Vintage Memo tags, too.

How do you come up with the designs of your product?

I do a lot of soaking in what I find attractive in design...I love lots of lines and circles, small icons and "word art"...and I like to keep my designs simple so they don't overpower the space that someone uses them in.

I could _________________ a million times.

Watch any Sex and the City episode

What songs are on constant repeat on your ipod?

Oh goodness, I am such a nerd about music. I rarely listen to anything that's currently popular, but I love to rock out to "Six Different Ways" by The Cure, "Rich Girl" by Hall & Oates, and the Spring Awakening soundtrack.

What are some of your must haves when you are creating?

I absolutely have to have my ATG, because I love it so, a black ink pad, a super-fine-tipped black pen, solid cardstock and patterned paper. I use so many more things, but those are my must-have basics.

Current obsession:

Decorating for Christmas. Yeah, I know, it's early, but it's my thing.

thank you Stephanie, to learn more about Living Room Floor: blog

tv inspiration

every once in a while my tv routine deviates from its normal schedule of networks (e.g. mtv, abc, nbc, vh1,we, hbo,cw and cbs) and ventures into some less loved networks like sundance. I am in love, ok obsessed with man shops globe! Keith is a thrifing/history/buyer genius and he works for one of my favorites stores on earth-anthropologie! I love the way his mind works and how he can visualize items he is shopping for in a store. If the treasures he shopping for do not inspire you the locations of his shopping trips will: India, South Africa, France!
You can check out some bonus footage...here.

*only three more months until lost, who's ready?!

11.04.2009

gasp!

yeah that was me when I opened up my email yesterday morning and saw the Balmain inspired jacket on the cutie in the photo. I immediately thought wished I could wear it and second got to order one for Saadiq or Synai!! I have better chances of Synai wearing it than Saadiq...srsly! I love the collaboration between Stella and Gap. This just may be the item that makes me the mom that they look back on and say, " why did mommy make us wear that, lol!"...only time will tell. ;)

dare 151

Dare 151 is up and it was a heart felt one for me about my parents.
never got to tell you how much l love the two of you together...

Have lots to create tonight, will be back tomorrrow with some things to share! :)

fall influences....

This fall has inspired me that I do know. I know I say that often but seasons and life in generally are very inspiring to me. I changed my inspiration wall this morning and it felt so good and as you can see I am in love with the color of and richness of fall. :)

The Coca Daisy November gallery is up, one of my layouts below but the rest of the gallery can be seen here*. I love my little guys eyes in this photo, he wasn't feeling well when I snapped this photo but it is a favorite of mine.
brown eyes

Synai's pumpkin that she picked from her school trip to the pumpkin patch, was surprised that she picked a big one. :) I snapped this one for polaroid week, so glad it is back in production! :) yeah I totally need to rack (bleck!!!) leaves once it dries out a bit!
pumpkin spice and everything nice :)

hope you are having a great fall day, off to the doctor because I may have pink eye! Another not so glamorous product of fall...germs!

shades of our weekend...

hello november!!
I am really starting to get excited and full of holiday spirit! I have tomorrow off so while the kids are in school, I will be busy prepping the house for holiday cheer, i love this time of year! We had a fun weekend and I cooked a lot! The chicken meatballs were really yummy and a success! You do have to get passed the fact that you are eating ground chicken and not beef because the flavor is totally different, but they were delicious! I only had one nay, which by the picker eater of the house Synai. I will be making them again for sure!!

On Sunday I made vegetable soup and was so proud of it because the only thing that wasn't fresh from the gardens of my mom, uncles or my own was the corn which was frozen. I just threw in all the vegetables we love: okra, tomatoes, green beans, corn, fresh garlic, onions and at the end potatoes. I love soups but even more when it is rainy and cold outside like it was most of the weekend.

saturday dinner:chicken meatball

We made a trip to the bookstore for some new reads and I picked up The Sartoralist, it is totally fabulous. I love Scott's blog but don't always go there as often as I like -his photography is total eyecandy and the people are always super fly. It would make a great stocking stufffer or gift for yourself! It is a great way to get inspiration while on trips or waiting for appointments.

current read: the sartorialist

I was inspired this morning to create my december daily mini, maybe that is why I am feeling the holiday spirit?! :) I made it out of magazine pages, packaging sleeves, overlays and a Heidi Swapp playing card. The cover is the playing card ( painted and embellished) that I wrapped around my pages and then I sewed it together! I can't wait to start adding bits in it, it isn't very big. I decided to keep it small because for me I realized with this daily I am more inspired when there is less space to fill.  I will be posting pages from it everyday starting 12.01.
09.december daily

hope you have a great inspired day! I can't believe 2009 is almost done...where does the time go?! :)
