into the woods reveal

hi, hope you had a very lovely weekend! Last night was reveal night at Studio Calico. As you may know, I totally LOVED this kit. This month I purchased one add-on, Sunny Clearing (which sold out), more SC pattern paper and more color . plus a few supplies: zing (the best embossing powder ever), precision pen, adhesive and need to remember to get more white next month! :) New stamps were added to the shop this month as well, with $2 off jetsetter (one of my all time favs), natalee alpha, time flies and doilies and label stamps.

I made a few layouts that were from each the main and add-on but the rest were are a mix of the two.
I love this photo from my Ohio trip,made with only the Sunny Clearing add on. I am creature of habit, love this color combination.


I must say my creative memories circle tools are some of my most loved tools on my desk, lol. I love all of the papers from the main kit, so vibrant! This one was made exclusively with the main kit, love the orange Studio Calico label stickers this month, one of my most favorite things other than the bee stamp, NO WORDS!

My remaining layouts are are a mix of the two, I think all of the add ons compliment the main kit so beautifully but wildflower is the only add on left!

I've had these pictures printed forever, not really saving them but just wasn't inspired to scrap them but I thought the colors this month were a perfect fit! I embossed the bee stamp with some zing  after I misted and sewed.


Lots of paint love here, this personal affirmation came to me while meditating a few weeks ago, I immediately wrote it down.

I always love seeing her at the shows and she makes the cutest t-shirts ever! Hope you have a great Monday, can't believe this is the last day of February...what what?!

$3 taco

first...HAPPT FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDAY!! okay, now that is out of my system, here is last weekend recap. :) we checked out a pop up restaurant off of h street called  tacos impalas. the weather was a windy beast, but we didn't let it stop us plus my crew was hungrY!

after March it will go to being to this place and cease to exist, but good news is taylor gourmet is next on our list to check out and directly down the street, nom nom...

me trying to contain the mane, lol. ack, my hands look so bare, left the house un-accessorized!! This doesn't happen often let me add. :)

the pork taco- the majority ordered this one but I didn't get to taste it, heard it was delicious though. s2 love meat and are serious about eating, proof below.

yep they mean business, damn look at those evil looks when I asked for a picture, excuse me guys, lol.

you know my love for froyo, this time I took s2 for a treat and it was instant love and happiness. Saadiq's froyo, classic kid style with gummies. :)

where we play...

you have seen my space before but come see my girls creative playgrounds. dare 175 is up and it is an easy one, just take a picture! right now mine space looks like its been to battle, need to clean for reals but this space above is a new favorite. I love crates and picked this one up last year in ohio. I hung it vertically in the perfect space beside my paper tray and now my mister huey's rest on top, zing and vintage threads rest in the cubbies below. perfect, have a great day....almost the weekend! xo

10 years?

it's a holiday for most in the US and I enjoyed a great monday off today, thank goodness. It was much needed and I got a lot done today which always feels good. A quick share of my take on the sunday sketch on the studio calico blog. I can't believe this little man has been in our lives for a decade, really where does the time go?! I swear I believe time speeds up even faster once you have kids. I was feeling very nostalgic when I made this so I dug through old pictures of Saadiq and voila! Everyone who submits a layout and links it to the sketch post on the sc blog gets a chance to win one of two  studio calico $5 gift cards. I used calico white mister huey and new countryside fabrips, pattern paper and chipboard alphas (they will be in stores really soon).thank you for the sweet comments about my post and photo from Friday. i love this series that amber is doing inspired by soulemama | it is important to try and capture as many moments as I can (was lazy with this in 2010) because life is moving so fast and they are growing so fast! Sometimes I feel like my life is moving at a warp speed.
anyhoo,Synai and her pillow pet Lola have been inseparable since x-mas. This is Lola "resting" while Synai enjoys breakfast. I love our morning routines, me being able to fix them breakfast, listening to what events they are most excited for during the school day.  | taken 2.15.11

happy Tuesday!!! Quick share of my sneaks for studio calico's march kit, I love love LOVE this kit! I started working on layout #4 this morning, thinking I am going to have five layouts with this one, which is a record for me! :) images as follows:1|main kit (yum woodgrain and squirrels)-2|addon 3 (Sunny Clearing)love the tones and alphas (total sucker for a great font) in this add-on and had fun misting with mister huey in piglet here!-3|mix of both main and sunny clearing with a little zing action and lots of pickle and sunshine mister huey!

i have a tutorial over on the studio calico blog today too, learn how to color block here! :) I am pretty stoked for tomorrow, we are slowing climbing out of the deep freeze, temps are going to be in the 60's, woot! come on spring, come on spring!

Happy Valentine's Day!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend, I sure did. We went to IKEA, where Saadiq found out he is now to big for the play area. He was devastated, Synai flew solo and IKEA treated him to a free ice cream cone. It lifted his spirits a tiny bit (insert sad face).  We finally tried out the new crumbs in chinatown, it was super delicious, my favorite is the vanilla coconut cupcake.

I played with the March Studio Calico kit while watching the Grammy's. OMG, you guys, you will LOVE this kit, I think it will be my favorite of 2011, already made three layouts with it. I will share my sneaks tomorrow.

the dares are back!

happy Friday,although it doesn't feel like one to me but I will take it! :) Finally back into the scrap swing of things and the dares are back (said in my best jay z voice)! this is my spin on d.174, journaling. brigittee and i have a Christmas tradition of going to the movies on Christmas day. we took some photo booth-like pics after seeing true grit. I love these pic  because she hates to take photos. I look crazy in most of them and we were clearly trying to find out where to look in photo no.1, lol! good times,  lots of new SC goods  , ink ( i love the tags from countryside and state fair) and a mix of old kits .  any plans for the valentine weekend? Nothing planned yet but hoping enjoy the weather and spend lots of time snuggling with my s2! I hope you have a fantastic weekend, much love!

so over winter, this is usually the point of the season where I get a little grumpy about the frigid temps. but this jacket does make the weather a little bit better and the trifecka (not a real world but I like it) of necklaces make me really happy. oh and since we are on the what makes me happy note, so does the following:
-rice cooker (don't know I survived before  purchasing this kitchen gem)!
-petite kitchen remodel (will share pictures soon, or check progress via my tweets)

really a week ago

Are you ready for some football?!! yeah....me either, I am not partial to either of the teams (neither are my favorite) but I am looking forward to the commercials!! I am ready for spring, I don't think it is far off, today is so gorgeous that I can hardly stand it. We are starting to get a few warm days here and there! A few more pictures from cali to share can't wait to go back in June with my mommy. On my last day I had a few hours before the show so I met up with Amy's super sweet mom;she took me to the fashion district for lunch and shopping. I picked up some bling for me and souvenir shirts for my family. I had a blast with her, I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to meet so many kind and great people thru scrapbooking and my blog. Life is such a joy and I am in full appreciation of it daily.

I forgot my camera at the hotel so a few are from my phone, still had to document the day. :)

celebrated Nic's birthday at lucky strike, it was so much fun! I hadn't bowled since I was in elementary school. We all enjoyed it, bowling is so much fun in numbers! I am excited to take my little unit soon. :)

la moments

I know most have seen all of the recaps from CHA and my photos and favorites from the show can be read and seen on twitter.  We ate an insane amount of great food starting with day one with lunch, fresh guac made table side is the best way to go mixed with great company. One of my favorite things about this trip (even though I was nervous before hand, new is always scary) was really getting to know everyone from SC.  I fell in love with April's mom (Joy),she is such a great person and fantastic bowler, her pointers help me a lot! :) I love it when you feel like you have known people forever, that is SC. I laughed and ate so much with these girls, can't wait to do again this summer! Our view from the hotel was stunning, we were right in the mix of LA Live and the walk back to the hotel always ended with mobs of basketball fans funneling into the Staple Center. I would have died if I saw Khole Kashdashian, maybe next time! part two to come....

putting the daily to bed.

hey there, finally getting back into the swing of things after CHA, which was so much fun! Hi to everyone who stopped by the SC booth and said hi to me, I loved meeting each of you! I have pictures to share tomorrow but today I am going to post some of the remaining pages of my december daily (to see the entire book look here). I know, I know it is February but are scrapper is never done, right?! :)
day 18: my little guy's football team won states, it was a very cold but great day!  I used photos from phone and added left over who's who bits, schoolhouse mister huey, 7gypsies stickers, paint and documentary alpha stickers.

days 19-20:saadiq playing geek assassin or something, lol he loves these glasses! Also had to document my most favorite weekend breakfast As you see I had more fun with mister huey in calico white and montage of stickers,stamps, rubons and  jed's christmas card envelope.

days 22-23:
Packing, love throwing things into the suitcase and going on an adventure, but unpacking not so much! These two pages were no fuss ones and I love them. I added the "are we there yet" onto a clear Hambly overlay. I love this die cut, seriously I saved it for years (printed it out almost 2 years ago at morgan's on her cricut) waiting for the perfect time to use- documenting our travel to nana's was the perfect fit!
