vivian maier

i could look through vivian maier's portfolio for hours, such raw inspiration and talent! also excited to watch the new documentary "finding vivian maier"  co-directed by the john maloof, who also acquired vivian's work in 2007, to learn more about the women behind the lens.

  1. Oh MY GOD! I love these photographs. The third one is probably my favorite with the two kids in the car. The second one from the bottom breaks my heart a bit- but these are definitely amazing. It astounds me and scares me how vastly things have changed in the last 80 or so years alone. Hell 50 years alone.

  2. I saw it, it's good! John is a little smarmy, but Vivian is so interesting and her photographs are gorgeous. And the memories the kids she nannied for are crazy. Def go see it!

  4. I show this doc at a local film festival here this past spring…loved it! Her work stayed with me and I purchased one book of her self portraits but would love to have more of her work.
